Alvin Slaughter was simply the most prolific receiver in Clarion football history playing for coach Malen Luke from 1995–1998. A native of Carol City, Fla., and a 1994 grad of Pace High School, Slaughter came to Clarion and rewrote most of the receiving records during his tenure. He set Clarion career records for passes caught (195) and receiving yards (2,860) and was second
 in touchdown catches with 23. His senior season, 1998, Alvin set single season records with 85 catches, 1,369 yards and 13 touchdowns and was named a First Team All-American by Football Gazette and Daktronics and Second Team All-American by AP. In 1997 he caught 44 passes for 538 yards and two touchdowns, and in 1996 helped the Golden Eagles to an 11-3 record, the PSAC West and NCAA D-II East Regional titles and an NCAA D-II Final Four appearance with 28 grabs for 468 yards and five touchdowns. Alvin also had two punt returns for scores during his career, and set the Clarion record for catches in a single game in 1998 with 14 grabs against West Chester. Also a member of Clarion's men's track and field team, Slaughter was part of the 1997 PSAC 4x100-meter relay team that took home the PSAC Championship while setting the school record (42.32).He also placed fourth in the 100-meter dash at the 1998 PSAC's. After graduation, Slaughter spent five years coaching for the Golden Eagles under Luke four as the receivers coach and one as the linebackers coach. 

At the time of his induction, Alvin, an assistant coach at LSU, and wife Dani (Konchan '99) resided in Baton Rouge, La., with their daughters Kira and Kaelyn.
