1974 Clarion University Grad - Elementary Education

Jack Davis made a strong contribution to the Clarion wrestling program as an athlete, assistant coach and head coach. He wrestled at Clarion from 1971-74 and had a record of 36-30-1, including a 22-14-1 mark and PSAC runner-up placing his senior year. Clarion won 3 PSAC team titles and had a combined team record of 61-10. Davis became a teacher in the Physical Education Department in Fall of 1975 and became coach Bob Bubb’s assistant coach and recruiting coordinator from 1976-92. He helped the Eagles win eight PSAC and one EWL title, post 19 Division I All-Americans and 8 top 20 NCAA Division I Tournament finishes. Head wrestling coach from 1993-97 (5 seasons), he led his teams to two EWL and one PSAC title, coached 8 Division I All-Americans, one national champion, 16 PSAC winners and 11 EWL champs. Under Davis Clarion finished 12th at the NCAA D-I Tournament in 1996, 14th in 1997, and 15th in both 1994 and 95. A 1970 graduate of Lake Lehman High, Jack continues to teach in the Clarion University HPE Department. He and wife Jackie reside in Clarion and have two sons, Rocky and Scott.
