1967 Clarion University grad ... Secondary Education- Social Studies ... A gifted all-around athlete for the Golden Eagle football team from 1963-66, John was a four-year starter at defensive back, halfback/wide receiver and special teams throughout his career ... Co-captain of the 1966 team that went 10-0 and won the PSAC West and PSAC titles, John set a school record with 12 touchdown catches in a single season, caught 28 passes for 690 yards, which was an average of 24.6 yards per catch ... A first team PSAC West, All-State and All-American selection, he averaged 22.7 yards per catch during his career ... He also was an accomplished punt and kickoff returner ... A native of Pittsburgh and a 1963 graduate of Peabody High, John was part of the City League Champions in football in 1962 and State Volleyball Champs in 1963 ... Currently a teacher at Fox Chapel High School he has been a boys and girls volleyball coach for 20 years ... He and wife Gloria reside in Oakmont.
