1968 Clarion University Grad - Secondary Ed./History

Lynn Armstrong was a talented offensive guard for the Golden Eagle football team from 1964-67. He helped pave the way for Clarion to post a 4-year record of 28-7-2, win two PSAC-West titles (1966, 67) and the team’s first PSAC crown (1966) under coach Al Jacks. The 1966 team posted a 10-0 overall record, including winning the PSAC title over West Chester by a 28-26 score. The 1967 squad finished 8-2 overall and lost to West Chester in the “State Game”. Named an Honorable Mention All-American, he was an All-Conference choice during his career and was named by the A.P. as a Second Team All-State selection. A 1964 graduate of Penn Hills High in Pittsburgh, Lynn returned to Penn Hills after graduation and taught for 31 years. He also was offensive line coach for 5-years (1972-76) and inducted into the Penn Hills Sports Hall of Fame in 1990. He currently resides in Champion, Pa. and is employed at Seven Springs Mountain Resort.
