"Mickey" Catello was an outstanding running back at Clarion and played for the Golden Eagles from 1965-67. His top individual season came in 1966 when he led the team with 925 rushing yards in only eight games - averaging 115.6 yards per game - including a PSAC record 20 total touchdowns (16 rushing, four receiving). An injury forced him miss the last two games, but he was an all-conference, all-district and all-state selection his junior year.  Catello was also a big factor in Clarion's 1966 PSAC championship team that ended with a 10-0 record. He finished his career with 1,420 yards and touchdowns. Catello also was a three-year letterwinner  on the baseball team, plus team captain and MVP his senior year. He is a 1968 graduate of Clarion University.
