Becky came to Clarion in the Fall of 1979 and became the most successful swim coach in the country during her tenure. In eight seasons as the women's swimming coach, she led Clarion to 6 Division II Nationals titles, a second place finish in 1987 and a third place ending in 1985. Clarion won 8 straight PSAC titles from 1980-87 and she posted a dual meet record 71-14, with 13 of the 14 losses coming against Division I opponents. She coached swimmers to 25 individual national titles and 217 All-America placings. Selected to the NCAA Division II's All-Decade team coaching staff in 1991, she was honored by the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce in 1990 with the "Lifetime Achievement Award", plus was Division II "Coach of the Year" in 1980, 81 and 84 and owns a Level 5 Coaching Certification from United States Swimming, the highest level any coach can accomplish. She also coached Women's Tennis at Clarion for 3 seasons (1979-81). A native of Ephrata, Pa. and a 1969 graduate of Ephrata High, Becky attended West Chester University. Inducted into the West Chester "Hall of Fame" last year, she swam on the 1972 West Chester National Championship team, and is still the only woman to swim on a national championship team and coach 6 national championship teams. A full professor in the Health and Physical Education Department at Clarion, she earned her Doctorate Degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1992. She is well published and a poular lecturer in the areas of swimming, nutrition and public health related issues.
