Better known as "Tick," Bob was an outstanding football player at Clarion from 1958 to 1961. A native of Pittsburgh and a 1953 graduate of Central High, Bob served in the United States Marine Corps following high school, was honorably discharged in 1958, and came to Clarion in the fall. An extremely talented four-year starter, Bob not only started on the offensive and defensive lines, but was a first team all-conference and first team All-State selection all four years. Also an honorable mention "Little All-America" choice, "Tick" was captain of the team his senior year (1961) and played in the "Gem Bowl" in Erie, Pa., which was a game for college seniors. After graduating in 1962, Bob worked in the Penn Hills School District 1962-65, the John P. Cloherty Company 1965-70, the Swissvale School District 1970-81, and has been employed by the Woodland Hills School District since 1981. Known throughout Pennsylvania as an outstanding official, Bob was selected Tri-State's "Outstanding Football Official" in 1989 and has officiated high school football and basketball for 29 years. Extremely loyal to his alma mater, Bob has stayed in constant contact with the university concerning potential students since his graduation. Bob and wife Jeanie reside in Pittsburgh, Pa.
