“Tammy” Myers had an unbelievable career as a four-year starter on the Clarion University Women’s Tennis team from the Fall of 1987 through the Spring of 1991. Her individual match records and team contributions were astounding. She posted a career singles record of 70-13, a dual meet singles record of 49-6 and a career dual meet doubles record of 41-3. Individually Myers was a PSAC singles champion in 1987 and a PSAC doubles champion in 1989. She was a multiple time PSAC runner-up. Tammy and doubles partner Lisa Warren were ranked #1 in the East throughout their careers. Myers helped lead a Clarion team, coached by Norb Baschnagel for three years and Terry Acker for one season, to four straight PSAC titles from 1987-1990. Myers was part of the Spring 1988 and 89 Clarion teams that qualified to play at the NCAA D-II National Championships and made it to the “Elite 8”. She also qualified four times for the NCAA Division II National championships in doubles and was a three time participant. With Myers on the team the Golden Eagles rolled up an unbelievable dual meet record of 55-1 losing only to NCAA D-I Penn State. Tammy captained the Golden Eagles her senior year (1990-91) as the #1 player. A native of Ford City, Pa. and a 1987 grad of Ford City High School, Tammy currently resides in Bethel Park.
