Taryn CarterWyche is certainly one of the most prolific women's track athletes in Clarion history. Taryn ran for the Golden Eagles women's track team, coached by Bill English, from 1978-81. She excelled in the 100- and 400-meter hurdles. Taryn was undefeated in dual meets during her four-year career in the 100 hurdles. In 1980 she won the PSAC title in the 100  and also placed third
 in the 400 and went on to AIAW (Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women) Nationals and placed eighth in the 100 hurdles earning All-America honors.  In 1981, her senior year, she came back and won the 100 hurdles at PSAC's while finishing third again in the 400 hurdles and went to AIAW Nationals and placed fourth in the 100 hurdles, earning two-time All-America status and the most decorated women's track star in Clarion history. At the time of her induction, her 100 hurdles time of 14.2 seconds was still the Clarion record after 34 years. She also held the 400-meter relay record and was team captain as a senior.

The 1977 graduate of Hackensack (N.J.) High School, at the time of her induction Taryn resided in Gray, Georgia, with her husband Michael and sons Willie, Antorius, Akeidre.
