Terry McFetridge was a record-setting wide receiver at Clarion from 1981-85 and helped Clarion win PSAC West titles in 1983 and 1984, plus the PSAC crown in 1983. In the 1983 PSAC title game against East Stroudsburg in Hershey, Pa., McFetridge caught the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter helping Clarion to a 27-14 win. The Eagles were 9-2 in 1983, 8-2 in 1985, 7-3 in 1982 & 84 and 6-4 in 1981. In 1982 Terry grabbed 43 passes for 915 yards (Clarion record), and eight touchdowns, while in 1983 he latched onto 50 aerials for 945 yards (Clarion record) 11 touchdowns. Hurt after two games in 1984, Terry returned in 1985 to catch 36 passes for 690 yards and 3 touchdowns. He set PSAC and Clarion records for career catches (140) and receiving yards (2,711) and an Eagle record 25 touchdowns. A two-time A.P. All-American, he was first team PSAC, Pgh-Press, Post-Gazette and D-18 in 1982, 83 and 85. He also received a Dapper Dan Award in 1985. Playing under coaches Al Jacks, Charlie Ruslavage and Gene Sobolewski, the Golden Eagles posted a 37-14 record during McFetridge’s tenure. A 1981 graduate of Gateway High School, Terry and wife Kathleen currently reside in Canonsburg, Pa..
