Tim Brown, who played football at Clarion under head coach Gene Sobolewski from 1990-93, caught more passes during his career than any receiver in Clarion history. Brown, an outstanding tight end, finished his career in 1993 with a school record 169 catches for 1,994 yards and 11 touchdowns. His 1,994 receiving yards were 5th best at Clarion. As a freshman in 1990 he grabbed 18 aerials for 242 yards and 2 touchdowns. In 1991 he was a first team PSAC West choice and FB Gazette HM All-American. In 1992 Brown led the PSAC and set a new Clarion single season record with 60 catches for 614 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was a first team PSAC West choice, first team CM Frank, second team FB Gazette and third team Associate Press All-American. In 1993 he posted 53 grabs for 642 yards and 2 touchdowns and was a consensus first team All-American. He also helped the Golden Eagles to the PSAC West Title in 1992 when Clarion won its final six games of the year. A native of Pittsburgh, Pa. and a 1990 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High, Tim and wife Stacey have two daughters – Samantha and Alexandra and reside in Kemersville, North Carolina.
