(HERSHEY, PA.): Clarion's Samantha Veights (Jr. Pgh – Mt. Lebanon) finished 15th and Alyssa Gerhart (So. Meadville) placed 19th, while the Golden Eagle Women's Golf Team finished 6th at the 2010 PSAC Women's Golf Championships which ended on Sunday.
Held at the par 72 Hershey Links Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday, California won the team title with a team total of 641, while Gannon was a close second with a 649 and West Chester was third with a 695. Rounding out the seven team field were fourth place Kutztown with a 713, Mercyhurst fifth at 720, Clarion sixth with a 729 and East Stroudsburg seventh with a 934.
California's Jenna Rothermel won medalist honors with a 158 total (81, 77), edging Gannon's Bhanisha Nagindas who was one stroke behind at 159.
Clarion's Samantha Veights was the Golden Eagles top golfer placing 15th with a score of 174 (89, 85), while Alyssa Gerhart tied for 19th with a total of 179 (92, 87).
Lavery was 25th with a total of 187 (95, 92), while Longstreth was 26th with a 189 (94, 95) and Suffern 31st at 209 (107, 102).
Clarion's Fall golf season is now completed.
