VEIGHTS 2ND/EAGLES 3RD AT G.C. INVITE

(Grove City, Pa.): Clarion's Samantha Veights (Jr. Mt. Lebanon) finished second and the Golden Eagle Women's Golf team tied for third at the Grove City Invitational on Thursday played at Grove City Country Club.

Seton Hill won the team title with a 364 total, while Malone was second with a 377 and Clarion and Grove City tied for third with identical 378 scores. Westminster finished fifth with a 418 and St. Vincent was sixth with a 473.

Veights finished second in medal play carding an 88 (45-43). Seton Hill's Brianna Bush took medal honors with an 86.

Clarion's Alyssa Gerhart (So. Meadville) notched a 90 (46, 44), while Kayla Lavery (Fr. Waterford, Ft. LeBoeuf) posted a 99 (50,49), Sara Heckman (So. Monaca/Center) was next with a 101 (53,48) and Jennifer Suffern (Jr. Carnegie/Chartiers Valley) carded a 107 (57-50).

Clarion will play at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational on Monday April 11 at Southpoint Golf Club.
