LOCK HAVEN - The Clarion University women's volleyball team extended its school-best start to 12 straight wins with a come-from-behind 3-1 win at defending PSAC Champion Lock Haven Saturday night.
The Golden Eagles (12-0 overall, 2-0 PSAC-West) lost the first game 30-28 but came back to win three straight (30-25, 30-22, 30-26) to take the match. It was Clarion's first win over Lock Haven since Clarion swept a pair of PSAC-West matches from the Bald Eagles in 2002.
Sarah Fries led the offense with 23 kills while adding nine digs, while Christian Steiner had 18 kills and 21 digs and Amanda Angermeier 13 kills. Kristi Fiorillo added 62 set assists and 14 digs, and Vicky Gentile had 23 digs.
Clarion returns to action Tuesday when it opens PSAC-West home play with California. Match time is 7 p.m.
