The CoSIDA Academic All-America program dates back to the early 1950s when it was started. Since that time, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) has been electing Academic All-America teams every year. CoSIDA remains the sole governing body allowed to officially confer the status of Academic All-America.Â
Clarion's first-ever Academic All-America was Ellen Borowy in 1983. In total, the Golden Eagles have had 49 Academic All-Americans since then, including six student-athletes that earned Academic All-America of the Year in their respective sports.Â
