WEST CHESTER - The Clarion University women's volleyball team rebounded nicely from its second loss of the season Friday night by winning a pair of matches Saturday in PSAC Crossover play at West Chester.
Saturday morning the Golden Eagles (17-2) knocked off host West Chester 3-0 (30-14, 30-22, 30-25) before beating East Stroudsburg 3-0 (30-10, 30-16, 30-19) Saturday afternoon.
In the West Chester match, Christina Steiner and Sarah Fries each had nine kills and seven digs, Kristi Fiorillo added 36 set assists, 11 digs and five blocks and Amanda Angermeier had 10 kills and four blocks.
Steiner then led the way against East Stroudsburg with 14 kills and 15 digs with Fries adding 12 kills and three service aces. Nicole Andrusz chipped in with 10 kills and three blocks, Fiorillo had 35 assists and three aces and Katie Aurand had 11 digs.
Clarion returns to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday in a key PSAC-West contest at Edinboro. Both teams enter the match-up 3-1 in the PSAC-West.
