Millersville Outlasts Clarion 58-53

CLARION - Millersville used a 14-0 second-half run to erase a 5-point deficit and get a 58-53 win at Clarion in PSAC men's crossover basketball action Saturday afternoon.

Clarion (7-6) led 44-39 with 10:18 to play but didn't score for the next 4:30 allowing Millersville (9-4) to grab a 53-44 lead.

The Golden Eagles fought back cutting the deficit to two points, 55-53, with 1:55 left and still trailed by just three in the closing seconds. But Demetrius Graham's 3-point shot with just under five seconds left was off the mark, and Millersville hit 2 of 4 free throws in the final 4.2 seconds to secure the victory.

Reggie Bates led all scorers with 23 points for Millersville while also adding nine rebounds. RayQuan Miles had six points and 10 boards for the Marauders, who led 29-24 at halftime.

Ricky Henderson paced Clarion with a double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds), Clarion's seventh double-double of the season and Henderson's third. The 11 rebounds put Henderson over 300 in his career with 310. Lonnell Jones added nine points, four rebounds and four assists for Clarion.

Both teams return to action Sunday. Clarion hosts West Chester at 3 p.m., and Millersville is at IUP at 3 p.m.
