CLARION - Christina Steiner and Sarah Fries combined for 25 kills and 27 digs to lead the Clarion University women's volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of visiting Slippery Rock in PSAC-West play Tuesday night at Tippin Gym.
The Golden Eagles won by scores of 32-30, 30-20 and 30-26 to improve to 18-3 overall and 4-2 in the PSAC-West.
Fries led the offense with 14 kills, five blocks and four set assists while also getting 17 digs. Steiner chipped in with 11 kills, 10 digs and an ace.
Kristi Fiorillo set the offense up with 43 assists while adding 15 digs and two aces, and Vicky Gentile added 32 digs.
Also contributing for the Golden Eagles were Amanda Angermeier with 10 kills and Nicole Andrusz with seven kills.
Clarion returns to action at 7 p.m. next Tuesday when its hosts Lock Haven in a key PSAC-West match.
