(Clarion, Pa.): Clarion co-captains Sal Lascari (Jr. Gray- 141) and Hadley Harrison (So. McKean - 149) rallied the Golden Eagles to an 11-8 lead after 149-pounds and the Golden Eagles rode the wave to a 31-14 victory on Wednesday night over Davidson in NCAA Division I Wrestling.

Clarion upped its dual meet record to 6-7 overall, while Davidson dropped to 0-1.

The Golden Eagles were down 8-0 after the first two weight classes when Lascari came out and won a technical fall, 20-4 match against Jack Templeton at 5:35. Lascari had six takedowns (4 in the first), along with three nearfalls and a reversal to get his victory.

Harrison pinned Carl Sandercock at 1:26 of the first period with a crossface cradle to give Clarion an 11-8 lead, a lead the team never relinquished.

Freshman Travis Uncapher (Grapeville) followed with a technical fall, 19-4 win at 7:00 over Scott Matthews at 157-pounds for a 16-8 Clarion lead. Uncapher also had 6 takedowns and two nearfalls in his win.

Sophomore Dave Cox (So. Orlando, Fla.) kept the Eagles on the winning track at 165 with an 8-3 decision over Kevin Cook.

Davidson's Trebor Clavette posted a 2-1 decision over Mario Morelli (So. DuBois) at 174. Clavette's third period escape tied the match 1-1, and his 1:08 of riding time decided the close match. The Wildats Sam O'Hair also posted a 9-3 decision over Scott Joseph (So. Export) at 184.

Clarion's Jamie Luckett won by forfeit at 197, and the match concluded when Clarion heavyweight Roman Husam (Fr. Lewisburg) pinned Charlie Wolff at 6:19.

CLARION NOTES: The Golden Eagles are off until January 18th when Clarion hosts Edinboro at 7:30pm at Tippin Gym... Edinboro is ranked 14th in the latest D-I Poll ... Lascari now has an 11-5 record, Harrison 13-4 and Uncapher 12-5 to lead the Eagles.
