EAST STROUDSBURG - Andy Heimbach scored a game-high 17 points to lead East Stroudsburg to a 66-54 win over visiting Clarion in PSAC men's basketball crossover action Saturday afternoon.
Josh Yanke led Clarion with 16 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Ricky Henderson added 13 points, nine rebounds and two blocked shots for the Golden Eagles (6-5), who saw their 5-game winning streak halted.
Clarion led by eight, 12-4, midway through the first half, but East Stroudsburg (7-3) answered with a 14-3 run to take its first lead of the game 18-15.
The Warriors, who led 32-28 at halftime, then started the second half with a 9-2 run to take a 41-30 lead less than 1:30 into the half, and Clarion never got closer than eight the rest of the way and in fact trailed by as many as 19 in the half.
Channon Easley added 12 points and eight rebounds for East Stroudsburg, while Lonnell Jones had nine points and six boards for Clarion.
Clarion returns to action Sunday at Kutztown (3 p.m.).
NOTES - East Stroudsburg shot 45.8 percent (22 of 48) from the field and 61.5 percent (16 of 26) from the free-throw line while outrebounding Clarion 40-33. The Golden Eagles shot 35.5 percent (22 of 62) from the field and 77.8 percent (7 of 9) from the line ... Clarion's Mike Sherry was ejected from the game with 4:18 left after picking up his second intentional foul. Easley also had an intentional foul for East Stroudsburg.
