EAGLES FALL AT EDINBORO

EDINBORO - The Clarion University women's volleyball team dropped a hard-fought 3-1 decision at Edinboro in a PSAC-West match Tuesday night.

The Golden Eagles (15-13 overall, 4-6 PSAC-West) dropped the first set 25-22 before rallying to win the second 25-23. The third set then turned out to be a heartbreaking loss for Clarion, as Edinboro pulled out a 29-27 win. The Fighting Scots then closed out the match with a 25-20 win in the fourth set.

Amanda Stefanov and Nicole Andrusz, who earlier in the day was named the PSAC-West Player of the Week, each had 10 kills and two blocks with Andrusz also added two aces. Kellie Bartman and Sarah Sheffield chipped in with four kills each.

Amanda Gough set up the offense with 25 set assists while adding 10 digs, two aces and three kills, while Rhianon Brady had 20 digs and Katie Aurand seven digs and two aces.

Clarion returns to action Saturday when it closes out its home season with a 1 p.m. match with Mercyhurst.
