(Clarion, PA.): Edinboro running back Michael Battles rushed for 113 yards and 1 td, and qb Trevor Harris tossed 3 td's as the Fighting Scots defeated Clarion 35-10 on Saturday afternoon.

Held at Clarion's Memorial Stadium, Edinboro, ranked #21 in the latest AFCA Div.II Poll, raised its record to 8-2 overall and 5-2 in the PSAC-West. Clarion dropped to 2-8 overall and 1-6 in the PSAC-West.

Edinboro jumped out to a 7-0 lead with 8:59 left in the second when Battles scored on a 6-yard run.

Clarion drew to within 7-3 when Robert Mamula booted a 25-yard field goal with 2:32 left before halftime.

Edinboro drove 76-yards in 10 plays to take a 14-3 halftime lead when Harris fired a 9-yard pass to Gary Nolen with 12-seconds left before intermission.

Edinboro took the second half kickoff and went 46-yards in only two plays. Ulysee Davis ran 33 yards, and then 13 for the score at 14:19 of the third and the Scots led 21-3.

The Scots made it 28-3 when Denayne Dixon caught a 1-yard td pass at 8:20 of the third.

Clarion came back and drove 66-yards in 11 plays and capped the drive with an Eddie Emmanuel 2-yard td run to make it 28-10 Edinboro with 3:01 remaininn in the third.

The Scots finished the scoring on a Ryan Rybicki 1 yard td pass from Trevor Harris with 12:34 left in the game.

Clarion had 232 yards of offense getting 89 rushing and 143 passing. QB Tyler Huether hit on 16 of 31 passes for 143 yards. Jaques Robinson caught 5 for 49, and Alfonso Hoggard grabbed 4 for 33.

Edinboro had 473 yards of offense, while Harris completed 17 of 24 aerials for 183 yards and 3 td's.

Battles rushed for 113 yards and 1 td on 15 carries. Davis had 99 yards and 1 td on 20 rushes.

Ryan Rybicki caught 4 passes for 38 yards and 1 td.

Clarion's defense was led by Patrick Pettis who had 9 tackles and 1 interception.

Clarion finishes its season next week when the Eagles host Cheyney at 1pm.
