CLARION KEEPS PSAC PLAYOFF HOPES ALIVE

CLARION - Leeann Higginbotham and Kellie Bartman each had 10 kills to lead the Clarion University women's volleyball team to a 3-0 win over visiting Mercyhurst Saturday afternoon at Tippin Gym.

With the victory the Golden Eagles keep their PSAC Playoff hopes alive. Clarion can clinch a PSAC playoff berth with a win at Slippery Rock next Saturday.

The Golden Eagles had an easy 25-16 win in the first set before getting a 26-24 win the second set and a 25-20 win in the third and deciding set.

Amanda Gough had 28 assists for Clarion, while Higginbotham added three blocks. Rhianon Brady led the defense with 14 digs, and Gough added 10.

Clarion (16-13 overall, 5-6 PSAC-West) is at Alderson-Broaddus Tuesday in a non-conference match.
