BUCKHANNON, W.VA. - West Virginia Wesleyan used a 10-2 game-ending run to get a 66-60 in over visiting Clarion in women's non-conference college basketball action Monday night.
Clarion (2-5) led 58-56 following a Sara Pratt layup with 5:34 to play, but that was Clarion's last field goal of the game.
Lydia Bridenbaugh three-pointer with 4:42 left gave West Virginia Wesleyan (4-3) the lead for good and started an 8-0 run that featured six straight points from Bridenbaugh.
Clarion led 33-31 at halftime before West Virginia Wesleyan went ahead by as many six midway through the second half. The Golden Eagles, though, answered with a 14-6 run that was capped by Pratt's bucket that gave them the lead.
Bethany Koch led Clarion with 17 points, while Pratt had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Pratt also handed out five assists and blocked three shots. Katrina Greer chipped in 14 points.
Sarah Van Horn led West Virginia Wesleyan with 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Sierra Holstein added 13 points, five assists and five rebounds off the bench. Bridenbaugh chipped in with 10 points off the pine.
Clarion returns to action Thursday when it hosts Fairmont State at 6 p.m.
