(Hilton Head, S.C.): Clarion's Women's Tennis team lost a narrow 5-4 decision to Kutztown in Hilton Head, South Carolina on Monday, March 10th.
The Golden Eagles are now 0-2 on their Spring trip and 4-4 overall, including their 4-2 record in the Fall season.
Clarion #1 singles player Corin Rombach (Sr. Prattsburgh, N.Y.) won her second straight singles match in South Carolina by defeating Rohini Das by scores of 6-3, 5-7, 10-6.
Also winning singles matches were Kassie Leuschel (Jr. St. Mary's - Elk C.C.) and Greta Shepardson (Fr. McMurray - Peters Twp.). Leuschel defeated Kealey McCabe 3-6, 6-2, 10-8 at #5 singles, and Shepardson downed Chelsea Worth 6-0, 6-1.
In doubles Leuschel and Lisa Baumgartner defeated McCabe and Wright 8-6.
The Golden Eagles will play Bryant College on Tuesday.
