LOCK HAVEN - The Clarion University softball team dropped a PSAC-West doubleheader at Lock Haven Sunday losing Game One 6-0 and Game Two 4-2.
The Golden Eagles fall to 1-10 overall and 0-4 in the PSAC-West, while Lock Haven moves to 23-5 overall and 4-0 in the PSAC-West.
GAME ONE
In the first game, Lock Haven's Kristin Erb threw a perfect game going seven innings with eight strikeouts.
Caitlin Lamison took the loss for the Golden Eagles throwing 5 1/3 innings and allowing six runs, all earned, on seven hits and three walks while striking out two. Lindsay Vevers relieved and finished the final 2/3 of an inning allowing one hit and one walk.
GAME TWO
In the nightcap, Clarion led 2-0 after scoring twice in the top of the fourth before Lock Haven tied the game with single runs in the fourth and fifth. The Bald Eagles then took advantage of back-to-back Clarion errors, two of the four committed by Clarion in the game, to push across the eventual winning runs with tallies in the bottom of the sixth.
Vevers was the loser going six innings and allowing four runs, only one of which was earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out one.
Clarion's two runs came when Nicole Lollo singled home Katie Baun, who had walked leading off the fourth, and when Suzie DeNillo hit into an RBI fielder's choice that brought in Nicole Martino, who had doubled following Baun's walk.
The Golden Eagles had three hits on the day with Lauren Stauber also delivering a base knock.
Clarion returns to action Wednesday at Mercyhurst.
