(California, Pa.): The fifth ranked Vulcans defeated Clarion 9-0 in Women's Tennis action on Thursday at California.
Clarion's record dropped to 6-7 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC-West, while Cal upped its mark to 19-2 overall and 3-0 in the PSAC-West.
At #1 singles Corin Rombach lost to Helena VanEysendeyk 6-0, 6-0, while at #2 singles Lisa Baumgartner was defeated by Inga Chilingaryan 6-0, 6-2.
At #3 singles Brittany Bovalino lost to Olga Alekseeva 6-0, 6-0, and Devin Rombach lost to Marina Quintana 6-0, 6-2.
In the last two singles matches Kassie Leuschel lost a 6-2, 6-1 decision to Galina Vishnikina and at #6 it was Sharayah Campbell losing 6-2, 6-1 to Laurie Navarro.
In doubles the Rombach sisters lost 8-2 to Chilingaryan and VanEysendeyk, Baumgartner and Leuschel lost 8-2 to Anna Chipchase and Quintana. And at #3 it was Bovalino and Campbell losing 8-2 to Alekseeva and Navarro.
Clarion returns to action on Saturday when the Golden Eagles host Shippensburg at 3:30.
