SLIPPERY ROCK SWEEPS DOUBLEHEADER FROM CLARION

SLIPPERY ROCK - The Clarion University softball team was swept in a doubleheader at Slippery Rock Saturday afternoon losing 3-0 and 9-0 in five innings.

In Game One, Clarion had three hits including doubles from Lauren Martino and Kara Kelosky. Valorie Rankin took the loss on the mound despite pitching well. She went six innings and allowed three earned runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out two.

In Game Two, the Golden Eagles fell 9-0 despite getting another hit from Martino and a double from Suzie DeNillo. Caitlin Lamison took the loss going four innings and allowing nine earned runs on 11 hits and three walks while striking out one.

Clarion falls to 3-18 overall and 0-10 in the PSAC-West. The Golden Eagles return to action Tuesday when they host Edinboro in a make-up PSAC-West doubleheader at 2:30 p.m. The games were originally scheduled for this past Friday but were rained out.
