CLARION WOMEN'S TENNIS DEFEATS ALLEGHENY 7-2

(Clarion, Pa.): Clarion University's Women's Tennis Team swept the doubles action and won four singles matches to defeat Allegheny on Tuesday afternoon 7-2 at the Campbell Courts.

Clarion raised its season record to 8-7 overall, while Allegheny dropped to 15-6.

Clarion opened with a 3-0 lead after the Golden Eagles opened sweeping the doubles play. Corin and Devin Rombach defeated Lauren Kristofco and Sara Longo by a 7-4 score, while the #2 and #3 doubles were won by Clarion in the tie-breakers. Lisa Baumgartner and Kassie Leuschel defeated Jackie Conrad and Kristyn Paone 9-7 (7-3) and Sharayah Campbell and Brittany Bovalino defeated Tamara Prairie and Margaret Hodgekiss-Lilly 9-8 (9-7).

Corin Rombach, Lisa Baumgartner, Kassie Leuschel and Sharayah Campbell all won their singles matches to give Clarion its 7-2 win.

Clarion hosts Slippery Rock at 2pm on Thursday in a key PSAC-West matchup.
