(Clarion, Pa.): In a rain-shortened women's tennis match at Clarion, the Golden Eagles opened PSAC-West play on Friday with a 5-0 win over IUP.

Clarion swept the opening doubles matches when the sister tandem of Corin and Devin Rombach defeated Laura Henderson and Adrianna Nunic by an 8-6 score, Lisa Baumgartner and Kassie Leuschel downed Alyssa Shubra and Emily Shubra 8-0 and Brittany Bovalino and Greta Shepardson defeated Jessica Kemp and Emily Rizzo 8-0.

Moving on to singles play, Corin Rombach and Lisa Baumgartner both won their singles matches by an 8-0 score. Because of the rain on Friday, and since Clarion had scored 5 points to win the match, the remainder of the singles matches were canceled.

Clarion is now 2-4 this Spring and 6-6 overall including the Fall campaign. Clarion is also 1-0 in the PSAC-West and next travels to California on Wednesday, April 9th.
