GOLDEN EAGLE SPIKERS FINISH CLARION TO. 4-0

CLARION - The Clarion University women's volleyball team completed a perfect 4-0 run through the season-opening Clarion Tournament by beating Holy Family and Davis & Elkins by identical 3-0 scores Saturday afternoon at Tippin Gym.

In the first match of the day, the Golden Eagles knocked off Holy Family by scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-19 led by Kellie Bartman's seven kills and six kills apiece from Casey Anderson and Danielle Brunot. Amanda Gough had 21 set assists, while Joy Carey added 11 digs and Rhianon Brady 10 digs.

In the Golden Eagles second match of the day, they defeated Davis & Elkins by scores of 25-20, 25-14 and 25-21. Bartman led the way with nine kills, while Amanda Stefnov added seven. Gough had 29 assists, while Brady had 16 digs and Carey eight.

Clarion (4-0) returns to action Tuesday at California in the PSAC-West opener.
