GOLDEN EAGLES DROP TWO MATCHES IN FLORIDA

LAKELAND, Fla. - The Clarion University women's volleyball team lost a pair of matches on the second day of the Florida Southern Tournament Saturday in Lakeland, Fla.

The Golden Eagles dropped a 3-1 (24-26, 25-21, 15-25, 16-25) decision to Lynn in the opening match of the day before losing to North Alabama 3-0 (16-25, 12-25, 19-25) in the nightcap. The losses dropped Clarion's record to 9-5 on the season.

Nicole Andrusz and Kellie Bartman each had eight kills vs. Lynn with Andrusz adding a pair of blocks. Amanda Gough had 24 set assists, while Rhianon Brady added 15 digs and Leeann Higginbotham three kills and 12 digs.

Andrusz added six more kills vs. North Alabama with Kaelyn Marcus chipping in five kills. Gough had 22 assists, Brady 14 digs and Higginbotham four kills and 10 digs. Joy Carey also added nine digs.

Clarion returns to action Tuesday when it hosts its first PSAC-West match of the year at 7 p.m. against IUP.
