CLARION - Leeann Higginbotham recorded 17 kills and seven digs to lead the Clarion University women's volleyball team to an exciting 3-1 win over visiting IUP in PSAC-West play Tuesday night at Tippin Gym.

Clarion (10-5 overall, 2-1 PSAC-West) won the first set 25-18, dropped the second 22-25 and won the third 25-22. The Golden Eagles then took a 17-6 lead in the fourth set before IUP came roaring back to twice have set points at 25-24 and 26-25. But Clarion rallied to score four of the final five points to take the fourth set 29-27 and win the match.

Kellie Bartman added 12 kills, Danielle Brunot nine kills and three blocks and Amanda Stefanov six kills, one digs and two blocks for Clarion. Amanda Gough set up the offense with 33 assists while adding nine digs, and Rhianon Brady paced the defense with 22 digs. Joy Carey added 13 digs.

Clarion returns to action Thursday at Juniata in a non-conference match.
