NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Clarion's Women's Tennis team opened the Fall 2008 season with a 6-3 win over Westminster on Tuesday afternoon.

In singles play #1 Jaclyn Metzger (Fr. Perrysburg, Oh.) won her opening singles match 6-4, 6-7, 10-3 against April Scudere.

At #2 Kassie Leuschel (Sr. St. Marys - Elk CC) defeated Andrea Redhair 7-6, 6-1, while Devin Rombach (So. Prattsburgh, N.Y.) at #4 defeated Dana Griesmer 6-1, 6-2 and Haylee Gardner (Fr. McMurray/Peters Twp.) at #6 defeated Rachel Jack 6-0, 2-6, 6-2.

Metzger and Leuschel defeated Redhair and Latinovich 8-2 at #1 doubles, while Sharayah Campbell (So. New Wilmington) and Rombach dropped Scudere and Newman 8-1 to round out the Golden Eagle scoring.

Clarion returns to action on Friday when the Golden Eagles host Millersville at the Campbell Courts at 4pm.
