ERIE – Despite getting 20 combined kills from Nicole Andrusz, Leeann Higginbotham and Kellie Bartman, the Clarion University women’s volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision on the road at Mercyhurst Tuesday night.
The Golden Eagles (10-7 overall, 2-2 PSAC-West) lost by scores of 23-25, 13-25 and 20-25. Andrusz paced the way with eight kills, while Higginbotham and Bartman each had six. Bartman added 11 digs.
Also scoring for Clarion were Danielle Brunot with five kills and Amanda Stefanov with four. Brunot added three blocks.
Amanda Gough set up the offense with 26 set assists, and Rhianon Brady had 28 digs.
Clarion returns to action next Tuesday when it hosts Slippery Rock at 7 p.m.
