CLARION 6 WEST LIBERTY 3

The Clarion women's tennis team defeated West Liberty Tuesday, Sept. 23 on the road. The final score was 6-3. The Golden Eagles are now 3-1 this Fall.

In singles play, wins for the Golden Eagles came from #3 Sharayah Campbell who defeated Tierra Waldrum with a score of 4-6, 6-4, 10-8, #4 Devin Rombach who defeated Sahana Birchfeild with a 6-2, 6-3 score, #5 Haylee Gardner, with a 6-1, 6-3 score against Cassie Smith and #6 Megan Parsons, who defeated Kayla Saunders with a score of 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles play, the #2 team of Sharayah Campbell and Devin Rombach defeated Waldrum and Smith with a score of 8-4. Coach Lori Sabatose said that this was a huge win, and that the team came back from being down to win 5 games in a row. Also with a win was #3 doulbes team Megan Parson and Haylee Gardner, winning 8-4 to Sahana Birchfield and LeDeana Bohrer.

Clarion is back in action for the ITA Regionals beginning on Sept. 27.
