CLARION ROLLS PAST WAYNESBURG

CLARION - In its final tune-up before moving into play against PSAC teams, the Clarion University men's basketball team saw five players score in double digits in an 81-53 win over visiting Waynesburg Wednesday afternoon at Tippin Gym.

A trio of Golden Eagles each scored 13 points including Lloyd Harrison, Jamar Harrison and Brandyn Mungo, while Shameel Carty and Denzil Dennison each added 11 tallies.

Lloyd Harrison also had seven assists, six rebounds and five steals to help Clarion move to 7-2 on the year with its fourth straight victory. Paul McQueen chipped in a game-high 10 rebounds to go with eight points.

Steven Iser and Lou Galante led Waynesburg (1-8) with 10 points each with Galante also tying for team-high honors with six rebounds.

Clarion used runs of 16-2 and 11-2 in the first half to open up a 38-20 halftime lead and then upped that advantage to as many as 36 points (77-41) in the second half before subbing liberally.

The Golden Eagles return to action at 3 p.m. Saturday when they travel to East Stroudsburg before taking on Kutztown at 3 p.m. Sunday.
