CALIFORNIA - The California (PA) women's basketball, ranked sixth in the country and first in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region, used a 34-8 first-half run to down visiting Clarion 93-52 in PSAC-West action Wednesday night at Cal's Hamer Hall.
The Golden Eagles (9-13 overall, 3-6 PSAC-West) trailed by one, 9-8, in the early going, but Cal (19-3, 8-1) went on the run to build a 43-22 halftime lead.
Katrina Greer led Clarion with 15 points in just 23 minutes of action, while Lizzie Suwala added 11 points and Sara Pratt 10 points and seven rebounds. Bethany Koch chipped in six points and eight rebounds.
Shaquetta Mance led Cal with 25 points, while Kayla Smith added 24 points and eight rebounds. Brooque Williams chipped in 16 points for the Vulcans.
Clarion returns to action at 6 p.m. Saturday when it hosts Gannon.
