(Meadville, Pa.): Clarion's Jaclyn Metzger and Kassie Leuschel won their singles matches, and together won at #1 doubles, but those were the Eagles only points as Clarion lost at Allegheny 6-3 on Thursday afternoon.
Clarion drops to 8-7 overall and Allegheny pushes their record to 10-6. Clarion will host Shippensburg next Wednesday.
Clarion's Jaclyn Metzger defeated Lauren Kristofco 7-5, 7-5 at #1 singles and Kassie Leuschel rallied to defeat Sara Longo at #2 singles in two important matches. Leuschel lost the first set 6-2, but rallied for a 6-4 win in the second set and won 10-6 in the super tie breaker.
Metzger and Leuschel teamed up to defeated Kristofco and Longo in a spirited match at #1 doubles by a 9-8 score. The Clarion duo won the tie breaker 9-7.
Sharayah Campbell lost a 6-3, 6-2 decision to Elyse Schmitt at #3 singles, while Devin Rombach and Campbell lost a tie breaker decision at #3 doubles to Jackie Conrad and Margaret Hodgekiss-Lilly (9-8), 9-7 in the tie breaker.
