GREENSBURG- Jill Miller scored twice to lead the Clarion University soccer team to a 3-0 win at Seton Hill Thursday in the Golden Eagle season opener.
Jill Miller started the scoring early with a tally on a penalty kick in the 12th minute. She iced the game in the 87th minute scoring on a pass by Lindsay Thill. Freshman Crystal Miller scored her first career goal on a penalty kick in the 56th minute.
Jenna Kulik posted the shutout making four saves.
The Golden Eagles (1-0) are back in action at 1 p.m. Saturday when they host Pitt-Johnstown.
NOTES- With her two goals Jill Miller moved into second place in school history with 12 goals, two goals behind Ashlie Regazzi... This is the second time in the 9-year school history the Golden Eagles have won the season opener, the other was 2002 with a win over Davis & Elkins 3-0.
