CLARION, Pa. - Clarion's Women's Tennis team opened the Fall 2009 season falling to Westminster on Tuesday with a final score of 7-2.

Clarion's two points came on wins from Megan Parsons (Jr. Acme) at #5 singles and Lauren Eonta (Jr. Pgh - Keystone Oaks) at #6 singles. Parsons defeated Dana Griesmer 2-6, 6-0, 6-4 and Eonta defeated Jane Larson 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

In other singles play #1 Jaclyn Metzger (So. Perrysburg, O.H.) fell to Westminster's April Scudere with a score of 6-3, 2-6, 7-5. At #2 Haylee Gardner (So. McMurray/Peters Twp.) fell to Hilary Newman 6-2, 6-2, while Westminster's Alex Bailey defeated Sharayah Campbell (Jr. New Wilmington) at #3 with a score of 6-1, 6-4 and Rachel Jack defeated Devin Rombach (Jr. Prattsburgh, N.Y.) 7-6 (8-6), 6-3.

In doubles play, Metzger and Gardner fell to Scudere and Bailey at #1 with a score of 8-4. At #2 Campbell and Devin Rombach (Jr. Prattsville, N.Y.) fell to Newman and Rachel Jack 8-2 and at #3 Parsons and Michaela Hardy lost to Latinovich and Larsons 8-3

Clarion returns to action on Friday when the Golden Eagles travel to West Chester for PSAC crossover.
