(PHILADELPHIA, PA.): With three sweeps in singles play and two wins by default, the Clarion women's tennis team shut out Cheyney University with a score of 9-0 on Saturday at West Chester.

In singles play Clarion got shut outs from #3 Sharayah Campbell who defeated Christina Schaffer 6-0, 6-0, #4 Devin Rombach defeating D'atra Jackson 6-0, 6-0, and from #5 Megan Parsons, defeating Sherri Kyle 6-0, 6-0. At #1 singles Jaclyen Metzger defeated Sauita Knight 6-1, 6-0, and at #2 Haylee Gardner defeated Vernae Coleman 6-2, 6-0. At #6 singles, Michaela Hardy won by default.

In doubles action, both #1 and #2 won matches, while #3 team of Metzger and Gardner won by default. At #1 Rombach and Parsons defeated Knight and Schaffer 8-6. At #2 Campbell and Hardy defated Coleman and Jackson 8-2.

Clarion will be back in action on Sept. 21 against West Liberty State at home.
