CLARION DROPS CLOSE ONE TO LHU

Sept. 22, 2009

Box Score

CLARION- A late flurry in the closing minutes was not enough for Clarion (3-7, 0-7 PSAC-West) as they dropped a heart-breaker to visiting Lock Haven 1-0.

With under three minutes to play the Golden Eagles had a chance to knot the game but Beth Ellen Dibeler's shot grazed the crossbar and went high. Erin White gave the Eagles one more chance to tie the game with 15 seconds left on a free kick but the Clarion header went wide setting the final at 1-0.

Lock Haven took the lead at 55:48 on an unassisted tally by Alissa Gamelier.

Jenna Kulik was hung with the loss in net for Clarion.

The Golden Eagles return to action 12 p.m. Saturday when they step out of PSAC-West play and travel to West Chester.
