SHIPPENSBURG – The Clarion University women’s volleyball team split a pair of matches at the Shippensburg Tournament Saturday.
In the first match, the Golden Eagles (6-1) lost to New Haven 3-2 (24-26, 25-23, 25-17, 15-25, 11-15) before knocking off West Virginia St. 3-1 (22-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-19) in the final match of the day.
Against New Haven, Kellie Bartman had 15 kills and seven digs, Rebecca Webb added 13 kills and five blocks and Nicole Andrusz had 10 kills and three blocks. Amanda Gough added 44 assists, 10 digs, two kills and three blocks, while Rhianon Brady had 24 kills. 
Versus West Virginia State, Danielle Brunot had 12 kills and three blocks, Andrusz added 10 kills and three blocks, Webb had eight kills and three blocks and Gough had 14 digs and 48 set assists. Brady led the defense with 30 digs.
Clarion returns to action Friday when it faces West Virginia Wesleyan at Gannon.
