BARTMAN SHINES BUT CLARION FALLS TO EDINBORO

EDINBORO – Despite 15 kills and a .405 hitting percentage from Kellie Bartman, the Clarion University women's volleyball team saw its 13-game win streak come to an end with a 3-1 loss at Edinboro Friday night.
Edinboro won the first set 25-18 before Clarion rebounded to take Set Two 25-23. The Fighting Scots, however, won the last two sets by scores of 25-22 and 25-23 to take the match.
Bartman added nine digs and three blocks for Clarion, which also got nine kills and 12 digs from Kaitlyn Anderson, six kills and five blocks from Rebecca Webb, six kills from Corinne Manley and four kills and two blocks from Hannah Heeter.
Rhianon Brady (17 digs) and Kayla Rodak (11 digs) paced the defense, while Amanda Gough had 32 set assists, nine digs and three kills.
Clarion is now 13-2 overall and 6-1 in the PSAC-West. Edinboro is 12-3 overall, 5-1 in the PSAC-West.
The Golden Eagles return to action at 4 p.m. Saturday at Mercyhurst.
