CLARION FALLS IN THRILLER

The Clarion University women’s volleyball team fell to Wheeling Jesuit (WV) 3-1 Thursday evening. Leading Clarion was freshman Emily Stewart who had 12 kills, eight digs, one block and one service ace.

The Clarion University women's volleyball team fell to Wheeling Jesuit (WV) 3-1 Thursday evening.  Leading Clarion was freshman Emily Stewart who had 12 kills, eight digs, one block and one service ace.


Kellie Bartman had 12 kills, five digs and one assist.  Amanda Gough had a 42 assists to go along with 14 digs, two kills, and a service ace.  Hannah Heeter had nine kills and Kaitlyn Anderson added seven kills.  Rhianon Brady led the Clarion defense with 30 digs while Rebecca Webb added four blocks.

Wheeling Jesuit's Allissa Ware had a match-high 21 kills in the win.  Casey Gates chipped in with 15 kills and ten digs.

Clarion (19-3, 11-1 PSAC) had won six in a row before the loss. The Golden Eagles have another home match Saturday at 1pm against Gannon University.
