Kayla Shull Wins 200 Free & 200 Backstroke

 
COMPLETE RESULTS

            (Clarion, Pa.):
Clarion's Morgan Oberlander (So. York/Dallastown), Kaitlyn Johnson (Sr. Uniontown) and Kayla Shull (So. Franklin/Rocky Grove) were double winners in individual events leading the Golden Eagle Women's Swimming team to a 174 - 118 dual meet win over Shippensburg on Saturday at W.S. Tippin Natatorium.
 
            Oberlander won the 100 fly (1:00.10) and the 1000 freestyle (10:56.70), while Johnson took the 100 free (53.37) and the 200 fly (2:06.23) and Shull was first in the 200 backstroke (2:11.96) and the 200 freestyle (1:58.94).
 
            Also posting winning performances were Kelly Connolly (Sr. Cranberry Twp./Seneca Valley),  Madison Sewell (So. Walled Lake, Mi.), Courtney Bogue (Jr. Glastonbury, Ct.), Gina Mattucci (Sr. Jeannette/Penn Trafford), Kayla Kelosky (Sr. Ellwood City/Riverside) and Kim Ogden (Sr. Canton, Oh.).
 
            Connolly won the 200 IM (2:15.90), Sewell took the 200 breaststroke (2:28.72), Bogue the 100 backstroke (1:00.76), Mattucci the 50 free (24.67), Kelosky the 3 meter diving (283.36) and Ogden 1 meter diving (219.30).
 
            Clarion also won two relays – including the 400 medley (Bogue, Connolly, Oberlander, Shull) and 200 free relays (Johnson, Mattucci, Oberlander, Tano).
 
            The win raises Clarion's dual meet record to 4-0 on the year. The Golden Eagles, under 11th year head coach Mark Van Dyke, swim at the Zippy Invitational on Dec. 3-5 in their next action.
