CLARION FALLS TO HOT SHOOTING BLOOMSBURG

CLARION – Bloomsburg shot 54.9 percent from the field to beat Clarion 79-48 in women's basketball action Saturday afternoon at Tippin Gym.
 
The Huskies (6-1) shot a blistering 66.7 percent (16 of 24) in the first half and used a 21-2 run in the half to take a 50-26 halftime lead. For the game, Bloomsburg was 28 of 51.
 
Clarion, meanwhile, was cold from the field shooting 28.6 percent (12 of 42). The Golden Eagles did hit 21 of 32 free throws.
 
Lauren Savulchak led Clarion with a season-high 13 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Ann Deibert added a season-best 13 points and four rebounds off the bench while Emma Fickel hit three three-pointers for nine points while adding three steals and three rebounds.
 
Dana Wieller led Bloomsburg with 18 points, five assists and the three steals. Kelsey Gallagher added 16 points, four assists, four steals and three boards.
 
Clarion returns to action Dec. 19 at Seton Hill.
