Final Stats

CLARION, Pa. - Clarion's Women's Tennis team opened the Spring 2010 season falling to Grove City on Saturday with a final score of 8-1.

Clarion's only point came on a win from Jaclyn Metzger (So. Perrysburg, O.H.) at #2 singles. Metzger defeated Grove City's Megan Bennett in a score of 6-2, 7-5.

In other singles play #1 Haylee Gardner (So. McMurray) fell to Grove City's Natalie Walten with a score of 6-3, 6-0. At #3 Devin Rombach (Jr. Prattsburgh, N.Y.) fell to Stacy Moon with a score of 4-6, 6-0, 1-0 (10-5) while Grove City's Kimberly Peterson defeated Megan Parsons (Jr. Acme) at #4 with a score of 7-5, 6-2 and Lisa Baldwin defeated Michaela Hardy (Fr. Greenland, N.H.) 6-0, 6-0. At #6 singles, Christina Bedi defeated Lauren Eonta (Jr. Pittsburgh) 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles action, the #1 team of Bennett and Moon defeated Metzger and Devin Rombach with a score of 8-5. Baldwin and Peterson def. Parsons and Gardner with a score of 8-6 at #2, and Walten and Barnett defeated Hardy and Eonta at #3 with a score of 8-1. Clarion returns to action on March 27, when the Golden Eagles travel to Erie to take on Penn State Behrend.
