(Erie, Pa.): Clarion University's Jaclyn Metzger, Haylee Gardner and Megan Parsons were double winners on Saturday as the Golden Eagle Women's Tennis Team traveled to Erie and defeated Penn-State Behrend by a score of 6-3.

Clarion swept all three doubles matches as the #1 team of Metzger and Devin Rombach defeated Arica Christman and Allison Quigley 8-6, Gardner and Parsons defeated Hillary Lasher and Leslie Durante 8-2, and the #3 team of Alysia Sturdivant and Elissa Swartz and Jade Buhite 8-1.

In singles play the Eagles Jaclyn Metzger defeated Christman 6-1, 6-4 at #1; Gardner defeated Lasher 6-0, 6-3 at #2; Rombach lost to Durante 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 at #3; Parsons defeated Karen Hobaugh 6-2, 6-1 at #4; Hardy lost to Quigley 6-2, 7-5 at #5 and Lauren Eonta lost to Jenna Sellitto 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) at #6.

"This was a big win for us today," said Clarion head coach Lori Sabatose. "Our ladies played well today, but I was especially pleased with our win at #1 doubles. That was quite a match".

Clarion, with a record of 3-3 this season, returns home to host Merychurst at the Campbell Courts on Tuesday, March 30th.
